In the Renaissance and the Baroque Land - or Cityscapes - there is usually a stage or background for painting historical, allegorical, or mythological paintings. It was not until the late 18th to early 19th centuries that artists started to depict the beauty of nature as a subject in itself. Clemens Maria Fuchs is generally not interested in just copying nature, but to give it a spiritual meaning. Nature is not simply a result of accident but a creation by a Creator!
